Jesse Mead was born on Leap Day. It was only 6 degrees Fahrenheit outside, so naturally she was quite upset. She eventually got over it and became an artist and amatuer language nerd.
I am hugely inspired by science fiction and fantasy, mythology and ancient cultures. I am constantly studying languages, reading, and finding inspiration in the works of masters such as Keith Parkinson, Michael Whelan, Brom, Salvador Dali, Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo & Julie Bell.
Amongst my favorite authors are H. P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, and Robert Heinlein.
Jesse has produced artwork for books, album covers, illustrations for comics and web media.
Projects include:
Tir Na n'Og, by Marni L. B. Troop (book cover)
Fallen Nation: Babylon Burning by James Curcio (contributed cover artwork)
subQtaneous: Some Still Despair In A Prozac Nation (contributed album artwork)
Celestial Michief's Radio Broadcast from the Belly of a Whale (album cover)
Chasic the Wish (comic), Fas ferox (concept art)
among others.
